Azzurro - Blue

Questo piccolo frammento dorato in foglia oro (imit.), acrilico e cotone, raffigura la moderna concezione semi-astratta dell'amore. 

Non amo giocare con questo tipo di forma (il cuore) perchè la trovo troppo sfruttata, ma ho trovato la maniera di renderla gradevole "etnicizzandola", puntando sulla superfice corrugata e materica e sull'effetto lucido e brillante del blu profondo.

D'altronde la funzione principale di questa "paper art" è la decorazione. 

Difatti, opportunamente incorniciata illumina significativamente l'angolo anonimo di una stanza.

This small fragment gilded in gold leaf, acrylic and cotton depicts my modern (semi-abstract) conception of love. I do not like to play with this type of shape (heart) but I found a way to make it more palatable focusing on the corrugated surface, the material and the effect of the bright and shiny deep blue.

Moreover, the main function of this "paper art" is to decor. In fact, properly framed significantly illuminates an anonymous corner of the room .

This beautiful little piece is made thinking about the lightness and serenity of the spring wind.

Heart, Red, Valentines!

Dopo molto tempo son tornata ad un formato a me caro: il quadrato. Per San Valentino propongo i miei collage sul tema "Cuore", raffinata foglia oro in un mix di inchiostro, fili  in cotone, dorati e non, cuciture e carta spessa. Come già detto, queste piccole opere han l'aspetto di biglietti augurali ma son concepiti per essere incorniciati ed appesi come quadri di piccole dimensioni, in una stanza etnica o creativa.
La simbologia del rosso è potente, fluida e apotropaica (serve a scacciare la sfortuna ed ad energizzare la stanza ove viene posto), poichè il fuoco, elemento a cui si ispira, è calore, comunione e conforto. Un omaggio alla fortuna e logicamente, al più potente dei sentimenti.

After a long time I am back to a form dear to me: the square. For Valentine's Day I propose my collage on the theme of "Heart", refined gold leaf in a mix of ink, cotton threads, gold or otherwise, stitching and thick paper. As already mentioned, these small works han appearance of greeting cards but are designed to be framed and hung as small paintings, in an ethnic or creative room.
The symbolism of red is powerful, fluid and apotropaic ( I used it  to ward off bad luck and to energize the room where it is placed), as the fire element that inspired it, is warmth, comfort and communion. A tribute to luck and of course, the most powerful feeling : Love

Blue II - Azzurro II

A Blue heart and little pieces of golden leaf....
These blue greeting cards have more success of their classic red version ... I have to redo them often (thankfully) and there is no one equal to another. Unique pieces in gold leaf (imitation) and treated paper and painted. Usually, they have a long machining (about two days) for the various mediums I utilized.
Also have long drying times, in addition to sewing and assembly.

Questi biglietti blu hanno piu' successo della loro classica versione rossa...devo rifarli spesso (fortunatamente) e non ce n'è uno uguale all'altro. Pezzi unici in foglia oro (imitazione) e carta trattata e dipinta. Solitamente hanno una lavorazione lunga (due giorni circa) poichè i vari medium utilizzati hanno lunghi tempi di asciugatura, oltre alla cucitura e all'assemblaggio.

Red Heart - Cuore Rosso

Red heart - Cuore rosso OOAK.

Rosso è il colore dei matrimoni cinesi, perché durante la cerimonia indossare accessori rossi, aiuterà la coppia che si sposa a scacciare la sfortuna e a propriziare così la buona sorte. Rosso significa anche felicità e gioia. E' considerato un colore energetico (simboleggiando l'elemento Fuoco nella metafisica cinese). Questo piccolo pezzo d'arte, sempre ispirato al Feng-Shui è fatto con carta per acquerello, inchiostri, acrilici, filo di cotone e oro in foglia. Un piccolo omaggio all'amore e alla fortuna.

Red is the color of Chinese weddings, because in wedding they tend to be happy and by wearing red things, will help the couple who are getting married chasing out the bad luck on the day they're getting married. Avendo venduto la prima versione di questo biglietto ad una simpatica signora americana (per un matrimonio in Massachusetts), durante la manifestazione Liquidazione Artistica, ne ripropongo una nuova versione con differenti cuciture. Il materiale utilizzato è china, acrilico e foglia oro.
